Prof. Atilla Akdemir
Deputy Dean

Pharmacists have a multidisciplinary and international profession, which directly benefits from technological and health-related developments in the world. Pharmacists are drug experts needed at all stages from the development of drugs to their presentation to patients.

After completing the basic courses such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Physiology and Anatomy in the first semesters of the pharmacy education, more profession-related courses such as Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacognosy and Cosmetology are offered. Since practical skills have an important place for pharmacists, many of our courses consist of theoretical lectures and laboratory applications. In addition, our students are required to perform their internships for a total duration of 120 days in pharmacies, hospitals, governmental institutions and/or private companies.

Our faculty also aims to develop life-long learning habits, an investigative spirit, strong communication skills and at the same time commitment to ethical principles in future pharmacists. The life-long learning characteristics of our students are developed with the “Istinyelilik Manifestosu” courses given for 4 successive semesters and their research skills are strengthened with the 2-year Graduation Project. Our students can also attend courses from a large pool of electives including Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacy, Clinical Research, Aromatherapy, and Disaster Pharmacy. With the "Let a CEO be your mentor" seminars, our students also get the chance to shape their careers by meeting with senior managers in companies.

Our faculty aims to constantly update its curriculum according to national and international standards and technological developments. It aims to contribute to the development of our country by meeting the needs of the pharmaceutical industry as well as our society.

Taken all together, our ultimate goal is to make our graduates pharmacists that are sought and needed by our society!
