Arda was born into a family of scientists. He grew up and studied in Ankara surrounded by numerous popular science publications and academic resources. In his early teens, he decided that he also wanted to be a scientist. He completed his undergraduate education at Middle East Technical University and his graduate education at Ankara University. He studied instrumental analysis and computational chemistry in the academy. Due to luck and professional circumstances, he was directed to work on and study reaction to fire of materials and, from a natural science perspective, made unique contributions to his institution's knowledge as well as his own field of view. Now, he continues his academic studies in line with his enthusiasm for research and innovative approaches. Arda is married to a scientist like himself and they have two very curious children. He spends his spare time with comics, sci-fi, basketball, heavy metal, role-playing and board games.
