Dr. Anmar Hasan Kashkool Al-Taie's research article titled "Pharmacists’s knowledge, attitude, and practices towards pharmaceutical and patient-centred care in asthma management: A national study" has been published in journal of "Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal (IF: 3.0)".

On May 22, 2024, in the Healthineering Idea/Project Development Event organized by İSÜ-CONNECTOM, sophomore students of the Faculty of Pharmacy Irmak Yelen and Şule Koç made our faculty proud by being deemed worthy of the first place award with the MigraTrack project they developed under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. İnci Kayın, Assistant Professor Hüsdamettin Osmanoğlu and Yalçın Hızlı.
The MigraTrack project is an innovative solution that aims to help migraine patients manage their attacks more effectively.
We congratulate Şule Koç and Irmak Yelen on their success and wish them success in their future endeavors.

On May 18, 2024, the Departments of Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmaceutical Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy organized an event for high school students as part of the "Spring Workshop for High School Students." During this event, Prof. Dr. Atilla Akdemir, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, briefly introduced "Computer-Aided Drug Discovery and Design." After this introduction, each student conducted a modeling study using the Flare Program on their computers. Following this, a "Plant Workshop" was conducted by Dr. Demet Akalgan Aklar, Head of the Pharmacognosy Department, and Dr. Meltem Güleç. In the final part of the event, Dr. Ece Özcan Bülbül, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, provided brief information about the department. The students then prepared a nasal spray according to the provided prescription. By the end of the day, the high school students had gained knowledge about the theoretical and practical education offered by the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Prof. Dr. Semra Şardaş was an invited speaker at the International Cardiology Congress held in İstanbul on the subject of the intelligent use of cardiology drugs.

Istinye University’s Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assist. Prof. Oğuzhan Aydemir, Assist. Prof. Betül Giray and students visited French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi recently. Sanofi Pharmaceuticals is renowned for its extensive product portfolio, sustainability policies, and social responsibility projects.

The event was organized by Sanofi to present students with an overview of career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry and the career journeys of company executives. Managers in pharmacovigilance, drug licensing, and medical departments explained the importance of pharmacists in the industry. Students also learned about new units into which artificial intelligence is integrated.

The event also provided information to students about internship and job opportunities at Sanofi.

The Project which will be conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İnci Kayın titled "Examination of the Effect of an Infographic Animation Movie to be Developed on the Anxiety Levels of Patients Receiving Iodine 131 (I -131) Radioisotope Treatment" numbered 223K828, presented within the scope of "3005 -Innovative Solutions in Social Sciences and Humanities Research Projects Support Program" has been approved by TÜBİTAK.

The project is a multidisciplinary project and will be implemented with the contributions of academicians from the Departments of Medicine, Pharmacy, Psychology and the Vocational School of Health Services.

Dr. Betül Giray, Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, has been appointed to the Working Group of COST Action CA22158 “Exploiting Plant-Microbiomes Networks and Synthetic Communities to improve Crops Fitness (CropBiomes)”.

İstinye Univesity, Faculty of Pharmacy member Dr. Elif YAVUZ DOKGÖZ’s research article title “LDH-A Inhibitor as a Remedy to Potentiate the Anticancer Effect of Docetaxel in Prostate Cancer” has been published in “Journal of Cancer (IF: 3.9; Q2).

Istinye University, Faculty of Pharmacy students Zübeyde Merve Kala and Kutay Kırımlı, who have devoted themselves to laboratory studies as researchers, shared their laboratory research experiences in the "Principles of Laboratory Practice" course.

Zübeyde Merve Kala and Kutay Kırımlı are entitled to TÜBİTAK 2209A and 2209B projects in the fields of Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Botanics/Pharmacognosy respectively . Both students served as role models for other students by making their presentations.

Our event, which started with art, was continued the opening speeches of TÜBİTAK president Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, İstinye University Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İBİŞ, İstinye University Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Atilla AKDEMİR and Young İVEK Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Mahmut TOKAÇ. Following the opening speeches in which the importance of multidisciplinary and scientific data was shared, the eight-session event continued with the presentations of our University Professors and pharmaceutical industry pioneers. Our young people once again had a day full of science in this event, which attracted great interest from students from all universities.

Dr. Kerem Dedeoğlu, a valuable member of the Faculty of Dentistry, contributed to the Health Literacy for Pharmacists course on 24.11.2023 and we celebrated the Oral and Dental Health Week together.
As a dental health specialist, Dr. Dedeoğlu shared evidence-based knowledge and experiences about oral and dental health with our students and emphasized the importance of cooperation between pharmacists and dentists regarding health literacy.
We would like to express our gratitude to him and the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Tamer Ataoğlu, for giving us this opportunity.
