The book "Basic Biochemistry for Health Sciences" contributed by our lecturer Elif Yavuz Dokgöz as the author of the chapter titled "Electron Transfer Chain and Oxidative Phosphorylation" was published by Ankara Nobel Medical Bookstores in November 2020. Edited by Dr. Lecturer Ebru Nur Ay, a member of the book, has been presented as a resource book for students studying in the field of Health Sciences to benefit from the field of Basic Biochemistry. Congratulations to all the teachers who contributed to the book.

The coronavirus epidemic, which is affecting the world, is steadily growing, Professor Dr. Semra Şardaş pointed out that the vaccine will be available after the third phase of clinical studies. Professor Dr Şardaş said: “So far, a drug or vaccine that provides full immunity to the virus or can definitely cure the disease has not been revealed. The release of the coronavirus vaccine may take the end of 2020,” she said.

Students from Istinye University participated in the all-day Farmakogenomiks Workshop organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy.
After taking theoretical knowledge on basic topics such as system biology, pharmacogenomics and statistical analysis of transcriptom data; they learned how to analyze the data using excel, programs such as cytoscape and the use of various data banks.

The article that is “Panvigilance Integrating Biomarkers in Clinical Trials for Systems Pharmacovigilance” was published by Professor Dr. Semra Sardaş and Dr. Lecturer Asligul Kendirci in last month, it was published in Washington (AAAS) news in New York City and, in addition, with a global-scale press release.
Working as a Business Development & Application Assistant Manager at MS / MS in Ant Technical Services, Dr Engin BAYRAM gave a seminar on “Beginning to End Method Development and Validation” for 2nd year students of Faculty of Pharmacy. In the seminar, sub-titles of method development, collection of resources, preparation, sample preparation and analysis method, validation, documentation and routine analysis were explained in detail. He also shared his professional and career experiences with the students. Following the presentation of Engin BAYRAM on method development, students summarized their acquisitions as a report in their laboratory books.

Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Abdullah Olgun gave a seminar entitled Aging: An Disease Caught on Everyone (?), in Molecular Biology and Genetics Department, Boğaziçi University, In his speech, our Dean stated that it is possible to take bioenvironmental age without aging because it is almost non-aging species in nature; he emphasized that understanding why and how aging is so critical for reducing age-related diseases. He emphasized that health professionals need to adhere to the principles of 'evidence-based medicine' to increase the accuracy of their 'anti-aging' recommendations and to apply the principle of 'prejudice' which is fundamental in medicine.
